Lucky is just as charming in LUCKY BREAKS as she was in the first book! I especially liked hearing more about Lincoln, the giggling fits with Paloma, and the wonderful, warm ending with the kids looking up at the stars and talking a little ways away from the adults. I love Lucky! I found her especially endearing when she sat on her guardian's lap at bedtime, but faced forward because she thought she was too old to be sitting on someone's lap. I liked the way she thought her bug collection would be famous--I remember thinking things like that as a kid. When s... more

Dear Susan,
I just finished reading the last Lucky book. [sigh] I like the way Lucky and the characters around her constantly change a little, just like in real life. I also admire your writing style: simple yet makes you feel something.
